Fayemi talks tough after Winning Ekiti APC Gov. Ticket

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, has said the battle toreclaim the state from the alleged misrule has just begun with his emergence.

Fayemi, who governed the state from 2010to 2014, said this in his acceptance speech shortly after he won the keenly contested governorship ticket on Saturday.

The former Minister of Mines and Steel appealed to other gubernatorial aspirants to join him in his effort to rescue the state and make it better,Punchwrites.

He said he was not on any vengeance mission against anybody or group of people while urging the people of the stateand other aspirants to join him in rescuingthe state.Some of his co-contestants, including former governor Segun Oni, lined up at his back while he read his acceptance speech.

A well-trained economist, Fayemi was ousted as governor in 2014 following the return ofGov. Ayodele Fayose,and he’s always harboured ambition of returning to the state house in the capital, Ado Ekiti.

He however faces an uphill task convincing voters who rejected him on thebasis of running an ‘elitist government’ four years ago.
