One key reason Jose Mourinho wanted £75m Romelu Lukaku at Man United

Jose Mourinho and Romelu Lukaku were thought to have somewhat of a difficult relationship, yet with the news that Manchester United have pipped Chelsea to the £75 million move for the Everton forward, those claims seem wide of the mark.
At least, now that’s true, with a war of words in the past, but it seems that Lukaku took the blame for whathad happened, conceded Mourinho was right, and now the pair are keento work together once again – and will do so.
The Times report this quote from Lukaku was key:
“Choices have been made by me. By me. Not by them. Everyone says, ‘It is Mourinho’s fault’. But it is not his fault because I made the decision. I went to his office to ask if I could go.
“He was the first one to say, ‘Good luck’. When I signed the deal at Everton at 11 o’clock, I got a text message on my BlackBerry saying: ‘Good luck, do your best and I will see you next season’.“He was the first, nobody knows that and that is why, for me, he gets immense respect.
”Target manLukaku is certainly a target man, and the number nine Mourinho was looking for, and given some of his most successful work in the Premier League came with Didier Drogba leading his line, there’s no reason that should not once again be the case, given the similar attributes shared by the players.
