Jose Mourinho: A big fan of Alvaro Morata
Throughout the Morata to Manchester United transfer saga, we were constantly reminded that it was Jose Mourinho who gave the Spanish striker his debut at Real Madrid.
And, Mourinho was reportedly in contact with Morata throughout the negotiations with Real Madrid, in an attempt to make sure he knew Manchester United were keen on signing him.
On Sunday, after Manchester United played Real Madrid in a friendly in California, Mourinho was asked in Spanish about Morata’s move to Chelsea.
Mourinho: “That subject is interesting for those of you who are talking and writing about Real Madrid, but not me.”
The Special One continued: “I do not care. Alvaro is at Chelsea, and I wish him luck and to be happy.”
