Man Utd can do better than fourth - Mourinho

Jose Mourinho is not willing to set any definite target this season but believes Manchester United can end the season on a highUnited are currently in sixth place, four points off the top four and the manager believes they can end the season in a better position than fourth.
United finished last season outside the Champions League spot under former manager, Louis Van Gaal but Mourinho does not want to make the fourth position a target for his players. He insisted his side can achieve more than that at the end of the season.
“It will take more effort and hard work for me to be happy, the way we end the season, the way the team has evolved and the results in the other competitions we are playing,” Mourinho said.
“We shall see where we finish; I don’twant to make a target of fourth because I know we can do better than that.”
“Though we are at risk of not finishing fourth because the competition is very tough at the top, these clubs also have similar ambition like ours. I don’t want to mention a specific position now”.United started the season poorly, but Mourinho seems to have found the winning formula in the last three matches. He insists the team didn’t deviate from their principles even when the results were not favorable.Mourinho said, “Obviously we need to work hard and improve, but we areclear about our footballing principlesideas and philosophy.”
“We believe in the way we play, and the players are also happy with the pattern of play. We didn’t change it though the results were not good.”“Now that we are winning matches, we are more convinced that our pattern is working. We are focused on playing well this season and not actually on how we want to end the season. If we are playing well, we willend the season well.”
