Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has emerged as one of the top names to become England manager after Sam Allardyce was sensationally sacked just 67 days after taking charge of the Three-Lions.Allardyce was removed from his post the England Football Association on Tuesday (September 27) after a stingoperation showed that he took advantage of his position to explore the possibility of earning extra money on the side while also handing out advice on how to get around Football Association transfer rules.The England Football Association has currently given the charge to England Under-21 manager Gareth Southgate for the next four matches. However, they are desperate to bring in a new manager as they look to bounce back from a disastrous performance in this year’s European Championship.Wenger, whose contract at the Emirates expires next year, has been heavily linked with the job. Wenger said:“It’s a huge surprise what happened – who could have predicted that 48 hours ago? Nobody, but the English game is always full of surprises.
“Look, of course [I’m flattered] but mypriority has always been this club. Until the end of this season I am here and completely focused on that.“I said many times my priority was towards Arsenal Football Club, I will have to assess how well I do until theend of the season.”
