Chelsea icon Michael Essien retunes to Stamford Bridge trains with Antonio Conte’s Blues

Chelsea icon Michael Essien has returned to Stamford Bridge.
But unfortunately for Blues fans, the tireless midfielder is only training with Antonio Conte’s side until he finds a new club.
Essien is regarded as one of Chelsea’s greatest players in the Roman Abramovich era, winning two titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League during an eight-and-a-half year spell.
The Ghanaian ace – also know as ‘The Bison’ due to his strength and athleticism – moved to west London from Lyon in 2005 for £24.4million and went on to form a legendary partnership with Frank Lampard in the centre of the park.Essien made 256 appearances in all competitions during his time with the Blues before leaving for AC Milan in 2014.
The 33-year-old is now a free agent after being released just one year into his contract with Greek outfit Panathinaikos, but whether Conte adds him to Chelsea’s ranks for the new season remains to be seen.
