Super Story :SERIAL LOVER BY KEN ZULEE

Tiwalola, a teenager who had what
you would say was a privileged
background (not luxury though),
started his Senior Secondary school
15 months prior and was finding it
tough. During his primary education,
he was sought after amongst the
girls, idolized by the boys and
popular amongst the teachers. In
fact, he dated two girls who were
identical twins in his primary 3 class
(yes I know, kids!!!).
He was hot stuff and that got him
wondering why secondary school had been so difficult as it was the
opposite of his primary school. This
feeling of lethargy was not helped by
his numerous skin infections, wounds that would fester for days with flies perching occasionally. Thank God he had a loving family. Tiwa wanted to be seen, and not just seen but to be the “life of the party” at his school.
He couldn’t go after the cutest or
smartest girls, not because he
wasn’t smart but he was just seen
as a joke. His only friends were the
‘losers’ and as much as he loved
and was loved by them, he wanted
more.
In this small town where he lived, he
wondered how he could ever catch a
break.
He had met this girl years before,
who lived in the big city but was not
in contact with her (truthfully he had
forgotten all about her) until one day,
she got his phone number and called him. He was stunned and very
excited, another friend and not one
of these rural people whose attention he craved. They kept talking for a while and Chioma was starting to have strong feelings for him. He had a lovely voice, spoke very good English and was just charming. He caught up on this but instead of focusing on her, he wondered why everyone else at school couldn’t see what she saw. Chioma waited and waited for him to make a move but he wasn’t ready, he was using her to build his confidence level. She
snapped after a while and made the
first move, he was furious because
he saw that as her way of saying he
wasn’t man enough. So they drifted
apart even though Chioma still
adored him. Chioma was 14, a year
younger than him. She couldn’t
comprehend all that so she gently let go and moved to the friend zone.
They spoke on the phone a few times and on one occasion, Chioma
introduced him to Halimah, the lady
who became his problem eventually.
She was a beautiful, rich and fresh
13 year old. It was supposed to be
innocent, but Halimah and Tiwa had
this strong attraction for each other
that kept growing after Tiwa had
asked for her number and called her
consequently.
Of course Chioma was in the dark on
this which was kind of sad but these
two love birds did not care (despite
never laying eyes on each other).
Now Tiwa had never felt this before,
this girl just blew his mind. Funny,
unlike Chioma, he did not wonder
why anyone else couldn’t see what
Halimah could see, he simply did not care about them anymore as long as he had her.
One lovely evening, Tiwa called
Halimah and asked her to be his
girlfriend and she wasn’t hesitant to
saying YES immediately. She had
nothing but lovely words for him
every time they spoke. In fact, he
was left breathless when he got a
text message from her one day that
read
“Hi, I don’t know why it has taken
me so long to say this and I hope
you don’t freak out. I LOVE YOU and
am addicted to your voice so much
that I record our conversations and
listen to them over and over till my
battery runs out. I hope you don’t
freak out, just want you to know that
I am bone breaking and heart
wrenching in love with you”.
Yes literally breathless. Now his
default thought was “F**k the world,
I have all I want”. A lot of things
followed this like Chioma and
Halimah having a fight and all that
but that’s another story.
Eight months down the line, their
love had not shaken, they were still
as in love as the first day and were
very happy (Note that they still had
not set eyes on each other).
BOOOOOOOOM!!! From nowhere,
Halimah broke up with Tiwa for no
reason at all.
In his confusion, he wondered what
could have happened, he did not do
anything wrong, she did not show
any signs of being bored or anything,
so, what happened? Not like he was
heartbroken but his curiosity was
killing his internal organs.
Unfortunately, he never found an
answer. All he knew at this point
was, his world had left and he had
to go back to fighting for attention
from the people that he did not care
about for over a very long time. Good thing is, he had already built his rep with his peers (unknowingly) during this period and they were slowly beginning to reckon with him.
Downside was that he wasn’t as
confident as before but he found the
solution. Find someone who will be
madly in love with him and
everything will be all fine.
Could you really blame him?
