Justin Bieber capped off his performance at the Video Music Awards Sunday night by putting his
head in his hands and… crying.
Bieber performed both “Where Are U Now” and his latest single, “What Do You Mean,” before the theater went dark, signaling the beginning of
Bieber’s voiceover. In the spoken-word outro, the singer talks about how falling makes you stronger and calls life a “journey, sometimes a battle.”
After the pre-taped monologue wrapped, Bieber descended from the ceiling Peter Pan-style — and
broke down in tears.
Bieber’s next album is reportedly due out this November , and a source close to the project told EW, “There’s some personal stuff and some ballads. There’s some spoken-word moments with him literally talking about what he’s going through in his life. It’s all about the experience of being Justin Bieber .”
